Release notes
What changed in each version of Lola.
- Lola now requires macOS 26.2: on older versions it could not transcribe.
- Personal, the default mode, writes your dictation the way you would have typed it.
- English words and English dictations now stay English, in every mode.
- In Personal, long dictations are cleaned up while you speak, so the wait after is shorter.
- Fixes for the pill’s waveform, the Confident and Warm tones, and corrections said aloud.
- Long dictations are laid out in paragraphs where you paused.
- Paragraphs go only into text areas, never a search box or a terminal.
- A switch in Settings, under Clean-up, turns paragraphs off.
- Copy Diagnostic Log, in the menu, copies a log for support.
- A busy Mac no longer pastes your old clipboard instead of your dictation.
- The cat icon is sharp at every size, down to the menu bar.
- The pill uses the system’s own glass and follows your Mac’s light or dark appearance.
- A long dictation is no longer cut off at 3 minutes while you are still talking.
- The clean-up is faster, and keeps a colon that ends your dictation.
- Setup asks for the microphone with a live meter and ends on a first dictation.
- A settings change or a mistimed tap no longer loses a dictation.
- New settings: Show in the Dock and Writing mode, with easier-to-read captions.
- Lola recognises 28 languages, and cleans up 3 of them.
- Declare up to 3 languages, and a tap then a tap held retypes your last dictation in another one.
- The clean-up removes more filler, and a tone can no longer answer your question.
- Settings is organised in panes.
- Once its models are downloaded, Lola no longer goes online to load them.
- Setup asks for permissions while the model downloads, and the menu bar shows its progress.
- Setup no longer restarts the model download halfway through.
- A soft voice is no longer thrown away as silence.
- The pill now says when a dictation was too quiet or heard nothing.
- With the clean-up off, the pill and menu no longer offer writing modes.
- The clean-up no longer translates the English words of a French dictation.
- A refused clean-up falls back to a lighter one, and only then to your own words.
- Settings holds the dictation key, the gesture, and the words Personal mode never writes.
- The pill follows the display you work on, and no longer uses CPU when hidden.
- Settings can be resized, and start at login survives moving the app.
- The first version of Lola.
- Press a key, speak, and your words are typed wherever the cursor is.
